About Dr. Wittig
In addition to inventing limb-sparing and life-saving surgeries, Dr. Wittig has led orthopedic oncology teams at top hospitals in New York and New Jersey, including serving most recently as the Medical Director Orthopedic Oncology and Sarcoma Surgery at the award-winning Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center, part of the Atlantic Health System.
During his tenure, the practice grew substantially, and was recognized for excellent outcomes, patient satisfaction, and its residency program which emphasized education, patient-centered care, and medical innovation.
Philosophy
While a practitioner of medicine, Dr. Wittig believes there are many facets to true healing in every aspect of what it is to be human: the body, the mind, the spirit, and the soul. These four aspects are interconnected and when they are in balance, overall health and well-being improve, leading to a more meaningful, intentional, happier, and longer life.

A tireless advocate for children diagnosed with cancer, and a recognized leader in developing and performing complex surgeries including excising soft tissue sarcomas and rebuilding the arms and legs of the smallest and bravest cancer warriors, in 2025 Dr. Wittig established the Pediatric Cancer Foundation New Jersey.
